The Department of Insurance has issued new Fair Claims Practices Standards,
effective 10/04/04.

The
NAIIA provided representatives to our mid term including our own past president
Dean Beyer, and Michael Hale, of Carter Claims Service, who made a presentation
on Errors and Omissions/General Liability/Director's and Officers insurance
for all adjusting firms. The NAIIA is opening this opportunity to CAIIA members,
and they informed us that a captive insurance company, to be set up through
the NAIIA, will provide large savings over premiums which adjusting firms are
currently paying. The program has recently been presented at NAIIA meetings,
and is working on acquiring the substantial capital required. If you are
concerned about E&O/GL Insurance premiums, and exclusions, you may wish
to visit their web site at www.cplic.net
. This program is going to have no exclusions. This new venture
may include risk, and is not sponsored or endorsed by the CAIIA.
Here are the proposed regulations for INSURANCE ADJUSTER EARTHQUAKE TRAINING STANDARDS just released by the Department of Insurance. We as a statewide professional association will consider the possibility of conducting training in this field, just as we have been conducting training in recent years for the Fair Claims Practices Regulations. We will be looking for your input on this proposed participation.
Keep up with the law as it applies to claims. Follow the Weekly Law Resume-Low, Ball & Lynch & Lynch. This new feature is must reading for the claims professional. We now have a better technology, thanks to Mr. Sterrett Harper's efforts, for putting our monthly newsletter online. Give it a try. You can open and read it on screen, or get a very clear print out from this file.
We now have an alphabetical listing of all Member Firms , with phone numbers, as well as an alphabetical listing of all Owners, Officers, and Managers, again with phone numbers . This should help our members and potential clients to make contacts. These pages will remain as links from our index on the left hand frame.
Your listing on this site can now include a link to your companies website. Check the details. We have also checked the listings against our new directory, with many updates and corrections.
The department of Insurance is developing standards for the handling of Earthquake Claims. Review them here.
We constantly update this site with information for our member firms as well as the insurance industry and insuring public. Please check out our News & Event area for important information! Also, the CAIIA wishes to thank those firms which have sponsored our Membership Directory. Click Sponsors for a listing of said firms.
A new feature here is the addition of our Affiliate Program. The CAIIA has linked with various sources to secure products or services which we believe offer great values while supporting the CAIIA. We have even more new affiliates which help support our organization each time "you" click on the link to their website here. If you need to buy something, why not help your organization at the same time. Click on the Affiliate Partner page for further information.
For the benefit of our members, John Norwood, our Legislative Analyst, has a very helpful and informative website. Please feel free to view his site at www.norwoodassociates.com .
