At
our Mid Term Meeting at the end of March, the NAIIA provided
representatives to our mid term including Dean Beyer, and
Michael Hale, of Carter Claims Service, who made a
presentation on Errors and Omissions/General
Liability/Director's and Officers insurance for all adjusting
firms. The NAIIA is opening this opportunity to CAIIA
members, and they informed us that a captive insurance
company, to be set up through the NAIIA, will provide large
savings over premiums which adjusting firms are currently
paying. The program has recently been presented at NAIIA
meetings, and is working on acquiring the substantial capital
required. If you are concerned about E&O/GL
Insurance premiums, you may wish to visit their web site
at www.cplic.net . This new
venture may include risk, and is not sponsored or endorsed by
the CAIIA.
Here are the proposed regulations for INSURANCE ADJUSTER
EARTHQUAKE TRAINING STANDARDS just released by the
Department of Insurance. We as a statewide professional
association will consider the possibility of conducting
training in this field, as we have been in recent years for
the Fair Claims Practices Regulations. We will be
looking for your input.
Keep up
with the law as it applies to claims. Follow the
Weekly Law Resume-Low, Ball
& Lynch. This new feature is must reading for
the claims professional. Just click on the above new
title item in the index on the left. As they
become available, we will add additional educational
resources.
