More directors "taking care of business"

The CAIIA thanks its many members who sacrifice scarce hours from their day to give time and money in support of our organization.  Please remember to thank those members of the CAIIA for their efforts.   And a special thanks to attorney Tom Wait of the Law Offices of Dryden, Margoles, Schimaneck, Kelly & Wait.  His time and devotion to the CAIIA as legal counsel for our organization is much appreciated.

On October 5, 2001, the CAIIA All Industry Day had a much better attendance that we could have hoped...especially given the close proximity to the events of September 11, 2001.  Thank you to all of those insurance adjusters and management who realized that every hour of training helps us all to deliver a better product the the insuring community.  Knowing what to do in a claim not only saves the insurance company money but puts the insured back to "normal" faster and safer.  We were delighted to have a very informative panel to discuss a very important issue facing all adjusters today...toxic molds/spores, etc.  Our own CAIIA past president, Peter Evans, RPA, moderated the distiguished panel of guests which included attorney Michael Pietrykowski of the Law Offices of Gordon & Rees, Mr. Michael Eggman of Certified Restoration, Mr. James Holland of Restoration Consultants, and Mr. Dixon Grier of Matson, Driscoll & Damico.  With everything that is going on in this country from terrorist attacks by anthrax spores to multi-million dollar verdicts against insurance companies not taking serious mold spores, the panel certainly raised many issues that we need to be aware of when looking at any claim.  No longer can we think mold claims are just a property adjuster's concern!  Thanks again to our panel that made us all think.

Our distinguished panel...molding the future.

Thank you once again to our many sponsors who helped make All-Industry Day special.  Click sponsors to view some of our special friends.

The formal installation of the new president, Sterrett Harper, RPA, was held at the annual President's Ball.  What a wonderful evening it was!!!!  And who could have ever guessed that besides a great dinner, that Sterrett's acceptance speech was under 5 minutes...wow.  As a special finale, we were pleased to announce that Gene Riggs was bestowed the CAIIA's Lifetime Achievement Award.  Only the second person to receive such an award in 55 years.  Anyone who knows Gene understands why he was the perfect choice to join Bill Suter with this most honored of honors!
